Archaeologists and Historians Gather for Conference on the Sack of Rome

Context Travel will be co-sponsoring a very important event in the world of Ancient History and Archaeology.

The conference is called “410 – The Sack of Rome. The event, its context and its impact” and it will be held from November 4-6, 2010 at the Museo Nazionale Palazzo Massimo.

When former docent Carlos Machado let us know about this conference we felt that it would be an honor to be sponsors of such great and important event and support the work of one of our docents.

The organizers of the event are former Context Rome docent Carlos Machado , Philipp von Rummel (from the German Archaeological Institute of Rome) and Johannes Lipps (from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München).

The calendar of the conference is very packed, with speakers coming from the most prestigious universities and institutions. This conference is one of two events dedicated to the theme of Alaric’s sack of Rome in 410. The first was a conference organized by the Swiss Institute from 7 to 9 October. You can read all about the upcoming event here.

The conference is open to all.
